This is my final degree project developed at the University Elisava and tutored by Josep Puig Cabeza.

"Bocanegra. The future through a car of the past", is a project that questions how the automotive industry has evolved over the years and how technology has influenced its design.

​

It was born out of personal dissatisfaction with the path that design is taking in this industry, it asks if the cars of the past were better or had more special connotations than the current ones. That's why this whole project can be said to be based on the aesthetics of the past and looking for why the magic and extravagance that existed in the automotive design has been lost.

 

After researching how automotive design has changed over the years, I discovered that it is not a feeling of mine, but that there are real reasons for the loss of magic in today's cars.

At this point I asked myself, as a designer and car lover, what I could do to solve this problem and I came up with the crazy idea of redesigning a car from the last century, but with a modernized aesthetic, while maintaining the values of classic cars.

 

The SEAT 1200 Sport, the Bocanegra, was the car I chose for this project, was the one with which I tried to demonstrate that designing a modern and current car with the values and charisma of one of the last century, is possible.
